@stephgeebeauty How To Keep It Moving
@stephgeebeauty

Hi Gee Beauties,

I felt inspired to share a few ways I have been keeping busy while laying low and staying home safely.

It's a trying time for all of us. Let's continue to pray for the world's remedy. This too shall pass.

While I've been home, I've been making sure to move my body, eat nourishing foods, log on and off of emails + Instagram, FaceTime with family and tidying my home. For any of you reading this with kids at home, I encourage you to try to get them involved in these activities!

Move Your Body

It's so important for our physical and mental health to keep our bodies moving. I know how easy it is to stay comfortable in bed or the couch, but moving our bodies will serve us beyond the physical. Exercising is proven to strengthen our immunities, improve circulation, boost energy, improve heart health and promotes detoxification, which is important now more than ever. I personally have been practicing Melissa Wood Health workouts and joining my sister in law @rachelfitness IG Live Barry's Bootcamp Style workouts. I alternate between the two and love the way I feel afterwards.

Get Dressed

Whether you are changing into workout clothes, a new sweatsuit or want to dress as if you're going to work (which is what I've been doing), get dressed with intention. Put on a little makeup, a pair of earrings, style your hair or tie the waistband of your sweatpants to create a bit of shape. It helps. Trust me. It sets more intention for the day and is a form of self respect that we deserve. It might feel silly at first, but who cares! It's helped me feel creative and productive, which is the blessing I see in get dressed everyday.

Get In The Kitchen

I am no chef, but I'm trying to embrace my time in the kitchen while being at home. I've been making the effort to chop and prep all my produce so it's easy to grab for healthy options like carrot + celery sticks and berries. It also encourages me to use everything I have in my fridge to eliminate waste. A few meals I've been making on repeat are:

- brown rice pasta with sautéed spinach and broccoli in Rao's Tomato Basil Sauce

- big salads made with beets, tomatoes, zucchini, hearts of palm, broccoli sprouts, arugula and romaine lettuce

- Bonberi's Green Goddess Rice

Listen To Music

Music is such a beautiful way to lift our spirits, get us moving and makes us live in the moment. DJ DNICE has been hosting DJ sets on his Instagram live during this trying time to get the world moving and grooving. I made a playlist inspired by his tunes. I encourage you to turn up the volume, make some room and let the music move through you. It's for our soul.

I share these tips with my whole heart and am practicing everything I mentioned above. Together we are going to get through this. I believe it.

Stay safe and healthy.

With love,

S
